Job summary

Cboe Global Markets, Inc. seeks a Senior Platform Engineer to manage and enhance Linux-based systems and on-premises Kubernetes clusters, improving performance, security, and availability.

You will collaborate with SRE, development, and security teams to ensure automated CI/CD and reliable platform integration. The role emphasizes automation using Python/Bash, SaltStack, and building scalable infrastructure with strong troubleshooting and security practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Linux systems administration and infra engineering experience.
• Production experience managing Kubernetes, on-prem or bare-metal environments.
• Hands-on cloud platform experience (AWS/Azure/GCP) in production.
• Strong scripting/automation in Python and Bash.
• Knowledge of Linux internals, kernel tuning, performance diagnostics.

Responsibilities

• Manage and improve Linux-based infrastructure for performance and reliability.
• Design, deploy, and maintain on-premises Kubernetes clusters and containers.
• Develop and maintain system software, middleware, and APIs for internal platforms.
• Automate workflows and infra tasks using Python, Bash, SaltStack.
• Build and maintain RPMs and internal software repositories.
• Collaborate with SRE, Development, and Security to ensure secure CI/CD and integration.
• Diagnose and resolve complex system-level issues across OS, network, and containers.
• Implement hardened security configurations and identity/access integration.
• Participate in on-call rotation for critical infrastructure.
• Document architectures, tools, and operational processes.
