Job summary

IREN in the United States is recruiting senior platform engineers to own end-to-end system design, interfaces, and rollout across teams. You will raise the bar through design reviews, pairing, and mentorship, while shaping API contracts and governance for scalable architectures.

This hands-on role emphasizes staying technical, guiding CI/CD, observability, testing, and documentation, and driving cross-team delivery without formal authority, in a rapidly evolving AI cloud platform.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience with production ownership.
• Own system-level design and dependencies across multiple teams.
• Deep experience with distributed systems and failure modes.
• Proven coaching and ability to grow engineers.
• Experience owning APIs and handling versioning and migrations.
• Excellent writing and design documentation skills.
• Depth in data engineering, automation, developer tooling, AI enablement, or product engineering.
• Leadership in delivering across several teams without formal authority.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end system design: problem, architecture, interfaces, data model, rollout.
• Coach and develop engineers; provide teach-through review and pairing.
• Own API contracts between systems; manage versioning and migrations.
• Set technical direction and document it for teams to build against.
• Break large problems into sequenceable work and deliver across teams.
• Lead delivery across team boundaries; coordinate and follow up.
• Stay hands-on: write and review code and participate in on-call.
• Own operations for systems: monitoring, incident response, and post-incident follow-up.
• Share domain knowledge across the company to enable others.
• Raise standards in CI/CD, observability, testing, and documentation.
