Job summary

The Hartford seeks a Senior Staff Platform Engineer to lead architecture and platform decisions across cloud and data analytics initiatives. You will craft target state architectures, guide cross-functional teams, and drive adoption of modern Data Platform practices with a customer-first mindset.

With 6+ years in cloud/data roles, you will collaborate with stakeholders, perform evaluations of new tech, and help shape strategic roadmaps for data delivery, ELT, and AI-enabled workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in CS/CE or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of cloud computing, data delivery/analytics experience.
• 3+ years of architectural guidance and technical direction to developers or platform admins.
• 2+ years designing/implementing AWS and GCP services.

Responsibilities

• Analyze industry trends in cloud computing and data platform technologies.
• Design and engineer target state platform architectures with reuse in mind.
• Collaborate with internal customers to provide architectural guidance for solutions across batch/streaming real-time data, cloud migrations and AI.
• Drive hands-on evaluation of new technologies, building IaC and cloud platforms for POCs.
• Incorporate DevOps/DataOps practices to automate platform adoption and delivery.
