Job summary

The Hartford is seeking a Senior Staff Platform Engineer to advance data platform solutions and cloud architectures. You will lead architectural initiatives, define target state architectures, and collaborate with customers to align platforms with business goals.

With 6+ years in cloud and data platforms, you will build scalable solutions, drive automation, and contribute to a customer-first approach across DAO and DPS teams. Hybrid environments and ongoing modernization are key aspects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 6+ years of solid, diverse work experience in cloud computing, data delivery applications, analytics or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• At least 3 years of experience providing architectural guidance and technical direction to developers, or platform administrators.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Collaboration: analyze industry trends in cloud and data platform technologies and translate them into actionable capabilities.
• Current and Target State Architectures: design target state platform architectures and define roadmaps for transformation.
• Customer Collaboration: evaluate needs with internal customers and guide solutions for batch/streaming, real-time and AI support.
• New Technology evaluations and POCs: drive product evaluations and build IaC and cloud platforms to support POCs.
