Job summary
The Hartford is seeking a Senior Staff Platform Engineer to drive cloud data platform architectures and adoption across the Data Analytics and AI Office. You will shape target state architectures, lead hands-on IaC work, and partner with internal customers on batch/real-time data solutions.
Ideal candidates bring 6+ years in cloud/data platforms, strong architectural guidance skills, and experience with AWS/GCP, Snowflake, Tableau, and ThoughtSpot.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in CS/CE or related field.
- 6+ years in cloud computing, data delivery apps, analytics, or equivalent.
- 3+ years providing architectural guidance to developers or platform admins.
- 2+ years designing/implementing AWS and GCP services.
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly and perform major duties within 6–12 months.
- Experience with agile Scrum methodologies.
Responsibilities
- Analyze industry trends in cloud computing and data platform tech.
- Design target state platform architectures and roadmaps for transformations.
- Collaborate with internal customers to guide product usage for data solutions.
- Lead hands-on IaC and cloud platform POC implementations.
- Incorporate DevOps/DataOps practices to drive automation.
- Drive technical road shows to improve service adoption.
