Job summary

StraitSys Inc. is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer in Huntsville, AL to design, build, and operate a delivery platform across the enterprise IT org. You will own the GitLab-based CI/CD templates and enforce security controls, compliance frameworks, and code-driven change management.

You will work with developers and infrastructure engineers on architecture, deployments, and governance across cloud environments, with a focus on automation, testing, and maintaining up-to-date toolchains.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related field.
• 7+ years in DevOps, platform engineering, or infrastructure.
• Hands-on GitLab CI/CD experience with reusable templates.
• Administration of self-managed GitLab including installations and backups.
• Production Linux servers administration, preferably RHEL.
• Experience integrating tests, code coverage, and security scanning into CI/CD.
• Kubernetes experience, preferably AKS.
• Terraform/OpenTofu/Bicep experience.
• Strong Bash or Python for tooling.
• US citizenship and eligibility to obtain a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Own and operate the delivery platform used across the enterprise IT organization.
• Design, build, and operate GitLab-based CI/CD pipelines and templates.
• Administer AKS and Azure managed services across multiple cloud environments.
• Define and enforce infrastructure as code for security and compliance.
• Collaborate with developers and infrastructure engineers on deployment and security.
• Automate versioning, releases, and rollback processes.
