Job summary

Shipcom in Houston seeks a hands-on Senior DevSecOps Engineer to own our GitLab platform, manage multi-cloud infrastructure, and standardize DevOps practices.

You will partner with product engineering to streamline deployment pipelines, improve reliability, and implement robust monitoring and security gates. This role offers autonomy to define standards and mentor engineers in a fast-growing environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure, or Platform Engineering.
• Hands-on experience with GitLab CI/CD, runners, and permissions.
• Proven ability to manage multi-cloud infra (Azure and AWS).
• Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, or Go).

Responsibilities

• Architect secure, scalable infra on Azure and AWS and own GitLab Enterprise operations.
• Lead CI/CD pipeline creation, automation, and runner orchestration.
• Manage production Kubernetes clusters (AKS/EKS) and Helm deployments.
• Define standardized DevOps strategies across orgs and teams.
• Build IaC using Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Automate security/compliance gates across the SDLC.
• Monitor infra and apps with Prometheus/Grafana/ELK.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal docs.
