Job summary

Yahoo Inc. is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to advance our centralized developer experience (DX) platform. You will own CI/CD initiatives, automate pipelines, manage artifacts, and drive platform tooling across squads.

You’ll work with AI-assisted development tools and modern GitOps practices to accelerate deployments while ensuring production correctness and security. The role offers a flexible hybrid work arrangement in the United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of professional software development or platform engineering experience, with a focus on CI/CD pipeline design and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on expertise with enterprise CI/CD platforms and writing reusable workflow modules.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools to accelerate code generation, debugging, and documentation.
• Experience with artifact management platforms and release promotion patterns.
• Ability to independently own and deliver squad-level software features or migrations.
• Strong technical writing skills for creating clear developer playbooks, API documentation, and migration guides.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver key components of developer platform initiatives across CI/CD pipeline modernization, artifact management, developer tooling, and ArgoCD rollouts.
• Utilize AI pair-programming and automation tools to generate, refactor, and test CI/CD assets.
• Inspect, validate, and troubleshoot AI-assisted configurations and migrations for production correctness and security.
• Build and maintain reusable pipeline templates, build workflows, and developer documentation.
• Support artifact publishing/consumption and CI compute runner optimization.
• Serve as primary technical contact for application squads during platform rollouts.
• Instrument pipeline automation with telemetry and monitor time-to-green, flakiness, and reliability trends.
