Job summary

Orb is seeking a senior platform engineer in a hybrid role serving SF Bay Area, New York, and Amsterdam employees. You will own and evolve the developer platform, build primitives for product engineers, and enable AI agents to ship quickly and safely across production-like environments.

You will work on CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, build systems, and observability, with a focus on reliability, performance, and developer experience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, including owning a developer or platform at meaningful scale.
• Deep hands-on experience with AWS, infrastructure-as-code, containers, and CI/CD.
• Built platforms that other engineers rely on and care about reliability and developer experience.
• Able to define ambiguous problems and drive multi-quarter initiatives to completion with minimal oversight.
• Interested in AI-assisted and agent-driven development and shaping how it works in a real org.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve our developer platform — CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and build system across a large multi-service codebase.
• Build the application-platform primitives that let product engineers ship quickly and with high quality.
• Create tooling for engineers and AI agents to develop against production-like environments safely.
• Improve developer-facing observability and on-call health with better signals and faster diagnosis.
• Advance AI-assisted, agent-driven development and make it safe and effective.
• Collaborate with security to ensure infrastructure and workflows are secure by default.
