Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Distinguished Engineer to lead DevEx platform engineering, tooling, and AI-enabled software development. You will define architecture, partner with Acceleration, and shape open source strategy while driving enterprise-wide technical standards and innovation.

You will influence senior engineering leaders, guide AI-driven tooling adoption, and champion secure, scalable developer platforms across the organization.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering with senior leadership roles (Principal, Staff+, or Distinguished Engineer).
• Experience leading strategy/architecture in large-scale enterprise environments.
• Hands-on with internal developer platforms, Kubernetes-based infra, cloud-native tech, CI/CD.
• Strong experience with AI-assisted software development and AI-enabled SDLC practices.
• Proven ability to influence architecture across org boundaries without direct reporting authority.
• Active participation in open source communities.
• Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration.
• Experience evaluating modern developer tooling and platform engineering solutions.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture, standards, and direction for a core DevEx domain.
• Align internal platform investments with Acceleration leadership and teams.
• Influence platform interoperability, AI-enabled systems, observability, edge patterns.
• Lead AI-enabled SDLC strategy and adoption of AI coding assistants and tools.
• Shape AI technologies across planning, development, testing, deployment, and operations.
• Contribute to CVS Health's open source strategy and governance.
• Champion evolution of platforms toward open, AI-driven solutions.
• Engage with open source communities and establish best practices for contribution.
• Elevate technical standards by influencing senior engineers and leaders.
• Evaluate build-vs-buy decisions for developer tooling and security.
