Job summary

New-Indy Containerboard LLC is seeking a Plant Electrical Engineer to ensure safe and reliable operation of the plant's electrical systems. The role covers design, maintenance, troubleshooting, and reliability improvements for electrical equipment and power distribution.

You will lead AC drive reliability and preventive maintenance, conduct inspections, ensure regulatory compliance, and collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to optimize plant performance and capital projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering required.
• 10+ years of engineering experience, including large outage planning and execution.
• Must be able to support a 24/7 operation, including on-call support.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe, reliable operation of the plant's electrical systems, including design, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical equipment, control systems, and power distribution.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for AC drive reliability, predictive, and preventive maintenance.
• Conduct routine inspections and audits of electrical systems and equipment; troubleshoot issues; and develop preventive maintenance programs.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulatory requirements through inspections, risk assessments, and corrective actions.
• Oversee installation, repairs, and upgrades of electrical systems; manage related projects; and collaborate with maintenance and operations teams.
• Assist in developing capital project programs, including budget management and cross-functional coordination to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Design, adapt, and implement improvements to plant electrical systems to enhance reliability and performance.
• Apply continuous improvement methodologies to drive process and system optimization.
• Participate in Operations/BOD and Maintenance call teams as assigned.
• Perform root cause failure analysis (RCFA) and implement corrective solutions, including process design modifications.
• Manage and support electrical systems within assigned process areas or mill-wide infrastructure, including specialized mill equipment when required.
• Provide training to mill supervisors (train-the-trainer) on new or modified equipment.
