Qualifications

• Five or more years of professional experience in building plan review or related code enforcement.
• ICC Building Plans Examiner Certification required; CASp desirable.
• Valid California driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Reviews complex building plans and related documents for compliance with applicable codes and standards.
• Coordinates plan reviews with Planning, Engineering, Public Works, Fire and other City departments; liaises with architects and engineers.
• Provides technical direction and training to plans examiners and building staff; communicates technical information clearly to applicants and the public.
