Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ltd. in Raleigh, NC, seeks a Senior Planner to lead development, management, and optimization of schedules across engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning.

You will transform project data into actionable insights, support risk management, change control, and milestone alignment for large-scale Grid Automation initiatives, collaborating with engineers, PMs, and vendors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 8 to 10 years of experience in project planning and project controls.
• Proficiency with Primavera P6 for schedule development and management.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and Deltek Acumen.
• Knowledge of CPM, EVA, and schedule risk assessment practices.
• Experience managing schedules for large, complex projects across multiple phases.
• Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration with technical and business teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimize detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 and related planning tools.
• Coordinate planning activities across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
• Perform earned value performance tracking and forecasting to support project execution.
• Integrate schedule and cost information to provide accurate project performance reporting.
• Identify schedule risks, constraints, and opportunities, and recommend mitigation actions.
• Partner with cross-functional project teams to gather progress data and maintain schedule accuracy.
• Prepare dashboards, reports, and executive summaries for project leadership and stakeholders.
• Support change management activities and claims assessments through time impact evaluations.
• Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
