Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a senior Piping Engineer to lead design and analysis for piping systems in accordance with ASME B31.1, ASME BPV, and related codes. You will provide technical direction, supervise project teams, and ensure deliverables meet quality and schedule targets.

The role emphasizes pipe supports, hydraulics, and dynamic analyses across multi‑discipline projects. The position is hybrid, requiring in‑office work three days per week, with strong opportunities for growth, client

Qualifications

BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering from ABET‑accredited program.
P.E. license.
10+ years of relevant experience.
Extensive knowledge of ASME B31.1 and ASME B&PV Section III piping codes.
Knowledge of pipe supports and their design.
Working knowledge of piping products and applications.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Lead engineers provide technical direction and supervision to project teams.
Review complex calculations and approve simple ones; ensure calculations meet requirements.
Review and approve complex system/structural designs for accuracy and operability.
Perform engineering review of drawings and coordinate interface between design and engineering.
Prepare and review major system, installation, and material specifications.
Prepare bid evaluations and participate in vendor negotiations.
Prepare and review single-discipline and multi-discipline reports and studies.
