Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a senior Piping Engineer to provide technical leadership on projects, ensure design quality, and coordinate between disciplines. You will supervise team members, develop task schedules, and act as a client technical liaison.

Responsibilities include reviewing calculations, system designs, drawings, and specifications, and guiding bid evaluations and vendor interactions to deliver compliant, cost-effective piping solutions.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Aerospace, or Structural/Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Extensive knowledge of ASME B31.1 and ASME BPV Section III piping codes.
• Knowledge of pipe supporting elements and their design.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Reviews complex calculations and approves simple calculations and provides technical guidance.
• Reviews and approves simple to complex system/structural designs and ensures quality and operability.
• Performs engineering reviews of drawings and coordinates interface between design and engineering.
• Prepares and reviews major system, installation, and material specifications; schedules submittals.
• Prepares bid evaluations and participates in vendor negotiations; reviews change orders.
• Prepares and reviews single-discipline and multi-discipline reports and studies.
