Job summary

Centrus Energy Corp. in Ohio seeks a mechanical engineer to design and optimize facility piping, size components, and prepare drawings and specifications. The role includes performing flow, pressure-drop, thermal and stress checks to ensure safety and reliability.

You will support safety reviews, procurement, FAT, field inspections, commissioning and troubleshooting under the guidance of senior staff, using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CFD and FEA as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least two years of hands-on experience with piping, fluid systems, or process equipment.
• Experience in equipment sizing, pressure-drop calculations, pipe-stress concepts, codes and safety practices, and drafting or analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize facility piping systems and size mechanical components.
• Prepare and update drawings and specifications.
• Perform flow, pressure-drop, thermal and stress checks.
• Support safety reviews, procurement, factory acceptance testing, field inspections, commissioning and troubleshooting under senior staff guidance.
