Job summary

Centrus Energy Corp. in Ohio is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design, optimize piping systems, size components, and produce drawings and specifications. You will perform calculations and safety checks to ensure code compliance and reliability.

Responsibilities include supporting procurement, vendor evaluations, and assisting with FAT, field inspections, commissioning, and troubleshooting. A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and at least two years of piping experience are required,

Qualifications

Requires a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Two years of hands-on experience with piping, fluid systems, or process equipment in an industrial setting.
Experience with equipment sizing, pressure-drop calculations, pipe-stress concepts, relevant codes and safety practices, and drafting or analysis tools; ability to obtain and maintain a Q security clearance.

Responsibilities

Design and optimize facility piping systems and size mechanical components.
Prepare or update drawings, plans, and specifications in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
Perform engineering calculations and safety checks to support project viability and compliance.
Support procurement and vendor evaluations to ensure suitable equipment selection.
Assist with factory acceptance testing, field inspections, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
