Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Senior Piping Engineer to join our team in a fully remote capacity, aligned with our Oak Ridge, TN office. You will design, analyze, and implement piping systems for nuclear and commercial projects, creating detailed drawings, P&IDs, and 3D models while applying applicable codes and standards.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of piping experience, a mechanical engineering degree, and familiarity with SolidWorks and stress analysis tools.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required in mechanical engineering or related technical field.
Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
Experience in nuclear industry preferred.
PE preferred.
Master's degree preferred.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Mastered the in-depth knowledge and experience required in piping and systems design.
Knowledge of industry codes and regulations.
Able to complete complex technical work with limited supervision.
Higher-level knowledge and application of skills of fundamental principles and concepts related to piping and mechanical design.
Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks.
Eligible to work under 10 CFR Part 810.
Must be a U.S. citizen.

Responsibilities

Design, layout, installation, and maintenance of piping systems and supports.
Support the design and analysis of mechanical components and piping for nuclear and commercial projects.
Create detailed drawings, P&IDs, and 3D models for piping routes and plant setup.
Perform engineering calculations and specify materials, fittings, valves, and supports; stress analysis.
Review technical documents and drawings such as GA, ISO, pipe supports, P&ID.
Mentor junior colleagues and perform quality reviews.
Site experience in construction or commissioning would be an asset.
