Job summary

ADM in Decatur, IL is seeking a Senior Mechanical Piping Engineer to lead piping systems and pressure vessel design, development, and standards review for diverse projects.

You will guide project teams, coordinate with clients and stakeholders, and ensure projects meet time, budget, and quality expectations. A PE license is expected within 2 years, with 10+ years in mechanical engineering and strong CAD/analysis skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years in mechanical engineering.
• PE license currently or within 2 years of employment.
• Proven experience leading projects from concept to completion.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, FEA, PIPE-FLOW, Codeware Inspect, AutoPipe.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of piping systems for industrial projects.
• Perform detailed calculations to ensure integrity and safety of piping systems.
• Develop and review P&IDs, isometrics, and related drawings.
• Coordinate with other disciplines, PMs, and clients for seamless delivery.
• Conduct site visits to assess progress and compliance with specs.
• Prepare schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
• Mentor junior engineers and support design team growth.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.
• Identify and mitigate project risks and issues.
• Stay updated on piping design trends and best practices.
• Collaborate with MPP department manager for project alignment.
