Job summary

Matrix Service Company in Houston seeks a Mechanical Senior Engineer I to lead design and analysis on industrial piping projects from concept through construction. You will act as discipline lead, coordinating internal and external resources and delivering complete project documents.

The ideal candidate has a BS in Engineering, 6+ years of piping experience, familiarity with PFDs/P&IDs, and proficient in CAESAR II, AutoPipe and AutoCAD. PE and MS are preferred; travel may be required.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering required; MS degree preferred; PE preferred.
• 6+ years related engineering experience with industrial equipment and industrial piping systems.
• Knowledge of NFPA 59A, ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3, and ASME Section VIII strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of basic process design and stress analysis including mechanical designs of supports, guides, anchors, hangers.
• Experience using standard design software like CAESAR II, AutoPipe, AutoCAD; able to review vendor data.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and analysis for projects from inception to construction completion.
• Coordinate tasks with engineers, designers and staff across disciplines.
• Prepare and manage scope, budget and schedule; assist with proposals and hours estimates.
• Check constructability, safety, and overall quality assurance of designs.
• Present engineering assignments at project meetings and interact with clients and contractors.
