Job summary

Hargrove Engineers + Constructors in California seeks a senior mechanical engineer to lead the design of complex process and utility systems. You will perform calculations, prepare construction specifications, and coordinate with drafting teams to deliver complete packages for procurement and construction.

The role requires a strong track record in piping design, stress analysis, and HVAC systems, with fieldwork and startup support. This is a full-time, on-site position based in California, USA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
• 6+ years of relevant industrial experience in mechanical engineering.
• Professional Engineering registration preferred.
• Knowledge of design standards, codes and materials.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete mechanical design of complex projects under general supervision.
• Produce design calculations and sketches for materials of construction and piping systems.
• Develop conceptual layouts and cost studies to determine efficient solutions.
• Estimate quantities and prepare material take-offs for procurement and fabrication.
• Review vendor drawings and coordination with other disciplines to ensure constructability.
• Provide field support, startup assistance and on-site problem solving.
