Job summary

Aecon Engineering Services Inc. (United) is seeking an enthusiastic piping designer to join our team in Mt. Laurel, NJ or Charlotte, NC.

The role supports power generation and heavy industrial projects across the United States and Canada, including simple and combined cycle power plants and plant modifications. Qualified candidates will have a strong background in piping design, familiarity with P&IDs and 3D tools, and a commitment to delivering safe, high-quality infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in piping design or equivalent demonstrated experience.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant design experience beyond the degree in powerplant piping and support design.
• Proficiency with AutoDesk Plant3D, P&ID and AutoCAD; Bentley MicroStation proficiency is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Under minimal supervision, design medium to complex mechanical / piping systems using 2D and 3D design tools.
• Develop piping and instrument diagrams (P&IDs), general arrangement drawings (GA), equipment plans, piping orthographic and isometric drawings.
• Understand the engineer’s design development process and translate project specifications into drawings.
• Review mechanical supplier documents for accuracy and coordinate design activities with other discipline groups.
