Job summary

Aecon Group Inc. seeks an experienced Supervising Mechanical Engineer in Mt. Laurel, NJ to lead mechanical design on major power generation projects.

This role signs drawings as the engineer of record, develops calculations, PFD/AFD/P&IDs, and coordinates multi-discipline teams across the project lifecycle. The candidate brings 10+ years of design experience, 5+ years in leadership, and a US PE license. Familiarity with HVAC/Fire Protection and Autodesk Plant3D is valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering (required).
• PE license in the US (required).
• 10+ years designing mechanical systems for conventional power plants.
• 5+ years in engineering leadership roles.
• MS in Mechanical Engineering is an asset.
• Experience with AFT Fathom, AFT Arrow, and Autodesk Plant3D is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Functioning as the mechanical discipline lead on a project.
• Engineer-of-record for assigned projects, signing/sealing drawings.
• Develop mechanical calculations, reports, studies, and drawings (PFD/AFD/P&IDs).
• Coordinate interdisciplinary team to meet schedule and budget.
• Review codes, documents, specifications, and construction docs for project development.
• Develop material estimates and engineering schedules.
