Job summary

Aecon U.S. is seeking an Electrical Supervising Engineer to join our Mt. Laurel, NJ or Charlotte, NC offices. You will lead electrical design for power generation and heavy industrial projects, overseeing scope, schedule, budget, and design approvals.

Qualifications include a BS in Electrical Engineering, a US PE license, 8+ years of related experience, and strong communication skills. US citizenship or permanent residency is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from a four-year accredited college or university.
• Professional Engineer (PE) License in any state in the U.S. with ability to obtain licensure in other states by comity.
• Minimum 8+ years of experience in the design of electrical systems for power plants or heavy industrial facilities.
• Familiarity with IEEE, EPRI, industry codes and standards.
• Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to interface with project teams, clients, contractors and vendors.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Teams).

Responsibilities

• Create equipment specifications, data sheets, calculations, and analysis to support design and configuration control.
• Create equipment specifications including transformers, switchgear, MCCs, and UPS/DC.
• Perform electrical studies including short circuit, voltage drop, coordination and arc flash studies using OTI-ETAP.
• Prepare electrical design documents including single-line diagrams, panel schedules, schematics, wiring diagrams, lighting and grounding plans, and cable schedules.
• Supervise: review proposals, schedules and budgets; monitor and report budget/schedule performance; provide technical leadership to engineers and designers for the electrical discipline.
• Lead and support electrical engineering and design activities on projects.
• Coordinate activities with clients, contractors, vendors and other project team members.
