Job summary

Aecon Engineering Services Inc. (United) seeks an enthusiastic piping designer based in Newport, Michigan, at the DTE Fermi Power Plant. You will support power generation and heavy industrial projects across the U.S.

and Canada, designing piping systems and related drawings using 2D and 3D tools. The role requires a strong background in powerplant piping, familiarity with AutoDesk Plant3D, P&ID, AutoCAD, and Bentley MicroStation, plus a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in piping design (technical field) or equivalent demonstrated experience.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant design experience beyond associate degree in powerplant piping and support design.

Responsibilities

• Under minimal supervision, design medium to complex mechanical / piping systems using 2D and 3D design tools.
• Develop piping and instrument diagrams (P&IDs), GA drawings, equipment plans, piping orthographic and isometric drawings.
• Coordinate with other discipline groups and review vendor documents for accuracy.
• Understand design development process and project specifications.
• Assist in coordinating mechanical / piping design activities with other teams.
