Job summary

Austin Water is seeking an Engineer C to perform highly complex engineering functions, including designing, planning, and overseeing work for construction and maintenance of facilities and systems. Under minimal supervision, you will contribute to cost estimates, contract documents, and coordination with contractors and public agencies.

Responsibilities include leading design teams, preparing construction plans, and ensuring compliance with local and state regulations through technical oversight

Qualifications

• Must possess knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience related to engineering.

Responsibilities

• Approves, processes, and seals plans, specifications, or construction documents by applying engineering standardization of practices and principles.
• Manages engineering projects that are technically complex and high visibility.
• Identifies and recommends improvement with preliminary and final designs and criteria.
• Develops cost estimates and feasibility reports for projects.
• Prepares final plans, specifications, and contracts and coordinates with contractors and utilities.
• Conducts field inspections to ensure compliance with plans and specs.
