Job summary

City of Austin is seeking a Professional Engineer to provide support to the Austin Water Pipeline Engineering team. The role focuses on review of plans for water, wastewater, and reclaimed water installations for regulatory compliance and constructability, with responsibilities for field conditions and plan corrections during construction.

The position offers a pay range of $97,450 to $125,200, with potential telework and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of civil engineering concepts, calculus, and geometry.
• Ability to lead multi-discipline teams and manage complex CIP projects.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills for stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Reviews plans, specs, and construction documents for compliance with regulations.
• Manages technically complex, high-visibility projects and programs.
• Provides cost estimates, budgets, and feasibility studies for projects.
• Oversees contractors, prepares contract documents, and coordinates with public agencies.
• Conducts field inspections to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
