Job summary

Quantum Computing Inc. (QCi) in Hoboken or Cranbury, NJ, seeks an experienced Senior Photonic Integrated Circuit (PIC) Engineer to design, develop, and optimize integrated photonic devices for quantum applications.

The role will drive PIC technology from concept through scalable manufacturing, ensuring designs meet stringent performance requirements in collaboration with fabrication, test and market teams. We expect 5+ years of hands-on PIC design, with at least 1 year in a senior role, and

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or master's degree in electrical engineering, applied physics, photonics, or related field.
• 5+ years of hands-on PIC design and development, with at least 1 year in a senior role.
• Proven track record of taking PIC designs from concept to fabricated prototypes and production.
• Proficiency in simulation tools (Lumerical, Photonforge, Tidy3D, HFSS).
• Strong knowledge of waveguide theory, coupling mechanisms, and device physics.
• Experience with semiconductor fabrication processes and MPW programs.

Responsibilities

• Design, simulate and optimize specific photonic components on TFLN platforms for customized and internal requirements.
• Pattern layout with our PDK, GDSfactory and Photonforge.
• Use industry-standard simulation tools (e.g., Lumerical, Tidy3D, Photonforge, HFSS) for design verification.
• Collaborate with fabrication team to optimize the PDK for foundry.
• Collaborate with test team to analyze each fab run and iterate for next run.
