Job summary

Quantinuum is seeking a Senior Photonic Integrated Circuit (PIC) Design engineer to advance commercial and research PIC systems in the quantum hardware stack. You will collaborate with physicists, optical engineers and fabrication teams to design, simulate, and validate integrated photonic components that meet stringent performance targets.

The role requires a strong background in PIC design, photonic simulation and packaging, with leadership experience guiding small teams.

Qualifications

• Masters degree in Optics, Physics, or related field.
• Experience with photonics fabrication processes and metrology.
• Experience with PIC design and packaging.
• Cross-disciplinary collaboration experience.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a team of physicists and optical engineers supporting quantum systems.
• Design and develop integrated photonic components and systems.
• Collaborate across architecture, physics, photonics, fabrication, and mechanical engineering.
• Gather requirements and ensure components meet performance requirements.
• Lead PIC development with external vendors to deliver demonstrators.
