Job summary

Quantinuum is seeking a Senior Photonic Integrated Circuit (PIC) Design engineer to advance photonic components for quantum computing, with locations in Broomfield, CO, Albuquerque, NM, or a remote option with approvals.

The role requires a Masters and 6+ years in PIC design using tools like Lumerical or RSoft, plus 4+ years in optical systems. You will collaborate across architecture, physics, fabrication, and mechanics to deliver high-performance PIC demonstrators and lead a development team.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required in optics, physics, ECE, or related field.
• 6+ years experience in PIC design and photonic components.
• 4+ years in optical/photonic systems maintenance.
• U.S. Person required by contract.
• National security rules limit PRC/Russia nationals unless citizen.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop photonic components and systems for quantum applications.
• Layout PICs and validate with fabrication and test teams.
• Collaborate across architecture, physics, fabrication, and mechanical engineering to meet requirements.
• Lead PIC development team and coordinate external vendors.
• Turn technical requirements into actionable plans and ensure performance.
