Job summary

Quantum Computing Inc. is seeking a Senior Photonic Integrated Circuit (PIC) Engineer in Hoboken or Cranbury, NJ. The role focuses on designing, developing, and optimizing PICs and packaged photonic devices to support quantum applications, from concept through scalable manufacturing.

You will collaborate with fabrication, test and market teams to ensure high-performance designs, implement DFM practices, and drive PIC technology advancement in alignment with product goals.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or master’s in electrical engineering, applied physics, photonics, or related field.
• 5+ years hands-on PIC design, with at least 1 year in a senior role.
• Proven track record from concept to fabricated prototypes and production.
• Proficiency with simulation tools (Lumerical, Photonforge, Tidy3D, HFSS).
• Strong knowledge of waveguide theory, coupling, and photonic device physics.

Responsibilities

• Design, simulate and optimize PIC components on TFLN platforms for customized/internal requirements.
• Use industry-standard tools for design verification (Lumerical, Tidy3D, Photonforge, HFSS).
• Pattern layout with PDK, GDSfactory and Photonforge.
