Job summary

FirstEnergy in Akron, OH, is seeking a Supervisor, Compliance Field Support & Physical Security. You will lead the Physical Security Field Support team, ensuring regulatory compliance, policy execution, and risk mitigation across the service territory.

You will drive improvements, oversee investigations, and coordinate with stakeholders to prioritize security projects. Strong leadership, CIP knowledge, and cross-functional collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; 4+ years professional experience required.
• 7+ years in physical security, compliance, risk management, investigations, or CIP.
• 3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience with NERC CIP compliance programs and electric utility operations preferred.
• Strong knowledge of NERC CIP Standards and utility security requirements.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise and develop Physical Security Field Representatives and related security personnel.
• Establish performance expectations and provide coaching and development opportunities.
• Prioritize and assign work to meet regulatory and business requirements.
• Lead team meetings and communicate security initiatives and compliance requirements.
• Ensure compliance with NERC CIP Standards and other regulatory requirements.
• Assist in development and maintenance of security policies and procedures.
• Coordinate investigations and document mitigation efforts.
• Oversee security assessments, threat assessments, and risk mitigation activities.
• Provide leadership for physical security investigations and incidents.
• Review investigative reports and root cause analyses for accuracy.
• Coordinate responses during security incidents and emergencies.
• Manage security project priorities, budgets, timelines, and resources.
• Develop reporting mechanisms to track project performance and risks.
• Build relationships with federal, state, and local agencies.
• Report security posture and project status to executives.
