Job summary

FirstEnergy in Akron, Ohio is seeking a Program Manager, Generation Project Compliance to lead the development and execution of compliance programs for large-scale generation projects. You will work across engineering, procurement, and construction to ensure regulatory alignment and timely execution.

The role requires deep understanding of utility project development, Davis Bacon Act compliance, and strong collaboration with Owner’s Engineer and regulatory bodies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, Construction Management or related field is required.
• Minimum of 6 years related experience; 10 years if no degree.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and execution of a compliance program for generation projects with external partners.
• Ensure compliance with federal, regional, and state regulatory requirements.
• Implement controls and reporting to ensure projects are entitled, financed, permitted, and constructed.
• Support regulatory, permitting, and grid interconnection processes to avoid project delays.
• Assist with state regulatory activities, orders, and rulemakings.
• Monitor and analyze gaps between state rules and processes; propose gap closures.
• Coordinate Generation Project Development and Supply Chain procurement as needed.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners.
• Provide project status reports and respond to information requests.
