Job summary

Amentum seeks a Senior Physical Infrastructure Engineer to support fort Meade government and partner sites. You will validate infrastructure readiness, oversee datacenter install and cabling, and coordinate with UC, networks, and site teams to ensure secure, compliant deployments.

The role requires extensive experience with secure facilities, ICD-705 standards, and project coordination, plus Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility. Travel may be required to government and partner sites.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of physical infrastructure design and secure facility buildouts.
• Experience validating server, network, and rack-level installations against drawings and specs.
• Ability to generate and revise technical documents like layout drawings and cable diagrams using Visio or CAD tools.
• Experience with ICD-705 or similar secure facility standards.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
• Strong organizational and project coordination skills for tight timelines.
• Travel up to 25% for surveys, readiness checks, and deployments.
• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Support stand-up of government/partner sites by validating infrastructure readiness.
• Conduct site surveys for electrical, mechanical, environmental, security, and cabling needs.
• Verify power, grounding, cooling, racks, cabling, and environmental controls.
• Coordinate with UC, Systems/Network Engineering and site teams.
• Monitor infrastructure issues across sites and escalate as needed.
• Deploy to remote sites to troubleshoot physical layer issues.
• Design, install, and modify datacenter infrastructure per standards.
• Review facility specs, ICD-705 requirements, and schedules for security objectives.
• Create and maintain rack elevations, cable routing diagrams, and As‑Built docs.
• Oversee IT equipment and cabling installation to meet drawings and timelines.
• Participate in site activations with readiness checks and ASIs.
• Perform preventive maintenance, fault isolation, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Support project managers and team leads during deployments and readiness reviews.
• Ensure compliance with government guidelines and site-specific policies.
