Job summary

Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. in Austin, TX seeks a highly motivated engineer to develop and maintain world-class Physical Design CAD flows for AI, HPC, CPU, GPU, and SoC programs.

You will collaborate with internal design groups and external EDA vendors to deliver efficient, scalable flows using Synopsys IC Compiler II, Fusion Compiler, and PrimeTime.

Experience with Tcl/Python scripting and a strong grasp of PPA optimization required. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Strong background in Physical Design and CAD flows.
• Experience with Synopsys Fusion Compiler and Cadence Innovus.
• Knowledge of timing closure, power and area optimization.
• Scripting for automation (Python, TCL).

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance Physical Design CAD flows for AMD's AI, HPC, CPU, GPU, and SoC programs.
• Deploy and support industry-standard EDA tools across multiple design projects.
• Create validation environments, test suites, and regression infrastructure.
• Collaborate with design teams and EDA vendors to drive tool enhancements and roadmaps.
• Improve CAD infrastructure, automation, and engineering workflows.
