Job summary

Quantinuum seeks a Senior Photonic Integrated Circuit (PIC) Design engineer to join our team. You will design and develop PICs for quantum computing systems, collaborating across architecture, physics, fabrication and mechanical engineering to translate requirements into demonstrators.

Candidates will have a Masters, 6+ years PIC experience with Lumerical/RSoft and layout tools; U.S. person and ability to work with national security constraints. Remote options may apply with approvals.

Qualifications

Masters Degree minimum.
6+ years of PIC design experience using photonic simulation tools and layout tools.
4+ years’ experience with optical/photonic systems.
U.S. Person due to contractual requirements.
National security restrictions apply for non-US nationals.

Responsibilities

Participate in a team of physicists and optical engineers supporting the development of commercial and research systems for quantum computing.
Design and develop integrated photonic components and systems to deliver and manipulate light across the spectrum.
Collaborate across disciplines to define systems and requirements for quantum computing demonstrations.
Gather technical requirements, create action plans, and ensure components meet requirements.
Design novel integrated photonic components to meet challenging specifications.
Layout test PICs and coordinate with fabrication and test teams to validate performance.
Lead PIC development team and external vendors to ensure timely development and delivery of demonstrators.
