Job summary

Quantum Computing Inc. seeks an experienced Photonic Integrated Circuit (PIC) Test Engineer to test, evaluate, and analyze photonic devices for market and internal quantum applications.

The role collaborates with PIC design and fabrication teams to iterate and optimize the PDK and customized devices, summarizing tests for debugging with the design and fabrication teams. The candidate will lead optical/electrical characterization, identify design improvements from test data, and develop automated

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or master’s degree in electrical engineering, applied physics, photonics, or related field.
• 3+ years of hands-on PIC testing experience on fiber optics, free-space optics, and wafer-level testing.
• 1+ years of high-speed EOM characterization with VNA/LCA.
• Programming skills for data analysis and automation (Python, MATLAB).
• Strong knowledge of waveguide theory, coupling mechanisms, and photonic device physics.

Responsibilities

• Oversee optical and electrical characterization of fabricated PICs, analyzing performance against design targets.
• Identify and implement design or process improvements based on test data.
• Develop automated test procedures where applicable.
• Skill in optical and electrical characterization techniques (Laser swept system, OSA, VNA/LCA, interferometry, etc.)
• Collaborate with the fabrication team to estimate the fabrication robustness of the PDK and customized design.
• Collaborate with the design team to analyze each fab run and iterate for next run.
