Job summary

CSL Plasma in Albuquerque, NM seeks a plasma collection technician to perform venipuncture and monitor the pheresis process under supervision. You will follow SOPs, evaluate vein performance, and explain donor screening and center policies to donors, ensuring proper nutrition and donor safety.

You will also record donor data in the donor information system, monitor for adverse events, and assist with equipment issues to maintain product quality and safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; specialized medical or phlebotomy training preferred.
• Minimum 18 months' experience in a medical/health provider environment.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and monitor the pheresis process under limited supervision.
• Follow SOPs for donor setup, venipuncture, monitoring and disconnect.
• Evaluate vein performance and optimize donation time for quality and safety.
• Explain screening, health tests, appointment system, fees, policies, and nutrition to the donor.
• Monitor donors for reactions and assist or notify staff as needed.
• Record donor data using the electronic donor information system and PDA.
