Raleigh General Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Senior Phlebotomist to join our night shift team. You will label, process and deliver specimens, collect blood samples, and serve as a resource for training staff while supporting scheduling and staffing.

The role requires a high school diploma, a PBT certification (ASCP/ASPT) within two years, and a BCLS certification, plus at least one year of phlebotomy experience.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma required.
• PBT (ASCP or ASPT) or equivalent obtained within two years of employment preferred.
• BCLS certification required.
• One year phlebotomy experience required.
• Familiarity with specimen collection protocols and patient identification.

• Labels, processes and delivers specimens for testing.
• Collects and processes human samples according to protocols.
• Collects blood specimens using age-appropriate techniques.
• Serves as a training resource for new staff and resolves phlebotomy-related problems.
• Assists with scheduling and staffing.
• Maintains equipment and inventory of supplies.
• Stocks phlebotomy baskets and collection stations.
• Verifies patient and specimen identification with two identifiers.
• Obtains urine specimens, labels and prepares for lab analysis.
• Collects drug screens per chain of custody.
• Centrifuges and stores blood samples for testing.
• Allocates specimen to correct tubes for tests.
