Job summary

Raleigh General Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist to join our team in Beckley, WV. You will help provide exceptional patient care while collecting and processing blood specimens in a fast-paced hospital setting.

You’ll work under the direction of the Laboratory team, ensuring proper labeling, handling and transport of specimens. This role emphasizes accuracy, compassion and collaboration with nurses and physicians.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; phlebotomy course preferred.
• Nationally accredited phlebotomy training preferred.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• One year of phlebotomy experience preferred.
• ASCP or NHA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Label, process and deliver specimens for testing.
• Collect blood specimens using age-appropriate techniques.
• Maintain equipment and medical supplies.
• Assist with coordinating and conducting blood drives, including donor screening.

What we're looking for

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent Preferred; An approved nationally accredited training course in Phlebotomy Preferred
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) to be obtained within 30 days of hire
• Experience: One year of experience preferred.
• Licenses: Certification from ASCP or NHA Preferred
• Required Skills: Familiarity with organization and functions of each hospital department Leadership ability, integrity, and initiative required. Ability to solve problems effectively and handle stress in a positive manner. Maintain harmonious relationships with nursing personnel, medical staff, hospital administration, and all hospital department.
