Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Verifies test requisitions by comparing information with nursing station log; discrepancies addressed.
• Verifies patient by reading patient identification.
• Obtains blood specimens by venipuncture and finger sticks.
• Maintains specimen integrity using aseptic technique and department procedures.
• Tracks collected specimens with initials, dates, and times; maintains tallies.
• Maintains quality results by following procedures and logging results.
