Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Verifies patient identity and collects blood specimens by venipuncture or finger sticks.
• Maintains specimen integrity using aseptic technique and documents collection times.
• Tracks specimens and maintains daily tallies of collections.
• Ensures quality results and compliance with department procedures and schedules.
• Follows safety, HIPAA/PHI privacy and regulatory requirements.
• Responds to unusual orders by coordinating with physicians and supervisors.
• Participates in ongoing training and professional development.
• Supports PHI handling and reporting tasks and coordinates with couriers.
