Job summary

Qualifications

• PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico).
• One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Requires willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
• Willingness to obtain active immunization certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the practice of pharmacy under supervision of the pharmacist and comply with policy.
• Enter patient and drug information in pharmacy systems, fill prescriptions, verify accuracy, and check for interactions.
• Assist with scheduling and maintaining workflow; report prescription errors per policy.
• Assist with cash handling and customer guidance to OTC products.
• Process manual claims for third-party prescription services; perform clerical duties.
• Lead pharmacy department inventory management and protect assets.
• Support clinical services coordination with Walgreens clinics and providers.
• Develop relationships with local medical community; outreach to health groups.
