Job summary

AdventHealth in Calhoun, GA seeks an experienced pharmacy operations leader to drive enterprise-level inventory management, safety initiatives, and regulatory readiness. The role requires ensuring accuracy in procurement, formulary alignment, and controlled substance programs across systems.

The candidate will mentor technicians, lead audits, coordinate with clinical teams, and champion process improvements while upholding USP, OSHA, and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Pharmacy tech training information preferred.

Responsibilities

• Leads enterprise-level inventory operations including procurement and perpetual inventory.
• Oversees controlled substance programs and DEA compliance.
• Conducts audits to advise on inventory integrity analytics and cost containment.
• Leads medication safety initiatives, risk mitigation and education.
• Facilitates root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
• Acts as pharmacy safety champion to leadership.
• Oversees hazardous medication handling and spill response.
• Leads departmental training and USP <800>, OSHA compliance.
• Directs pharmacy compliance, audits, and policy development.
• Prepares for regulatory inspections and accreditation surveys.
• Advises on regulatory changes and alignment with goals.
• Collaborates with clinical/operational teams to advance services.
• Liaises across shifts to ensure continuity of pharmacy services.
• Leads technician development, onboarding and competency.
• Mentors staff and supports workforce planning.
• Leads quality improvement and education projects.
• Trains new technicians and supports pharmacy residency.
• May assess competency and performance evaluations.
• Executes expert-level duties across workflows and systems.
• Leads optimization of automation and cross-functional training.
• Oversees high-risk and sterile medication prep; ensures compliance.
• Provides oversight across all pharmacy practice areas.
• Supports distribution efficiency and best practices.
• Offers coverage in advanced practice areas as needed.
