Texas Oncology is seeking a Pharmacy/Admixture Technician to support the McAllen, TX location. This role involves compounding, admixture, inventory control, and record keeping under supervision of a pharmacist or physician.

The ideal candidate will have varying levels of experience (Level 1- Sr) with IV skills, oncology background preferred, and IV certification recommended. Expect regular daytime hours Monday–Friday with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Entry-level to 3 years in a pharmacy setting for Level 1.
• 3–5 years pharmacy with IV skills for Level 2.
• IV certification preferred.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician certificate or state board requirement recommended.
• 5–7 years experience in pharmacy with IV skills for Level Sr.

Responsabilités

• Assist with preparation of medication orders by compounding or admixing under supervision.
• Check all orders for completeness and verify patient information and physician authorization.
• Admix drugs as ordered by a physician following guidelines.
• Calculate correct dosage volumes and convert units.
• Assist in controlled substance record keeping per regulations.
• Dispose of materials from mixing chemo or non-chemo IVs per guidelines.
• Clean hoods daily and perform quality assurance activities.
• Maintain temperature logs and protocol logs.
• Manage inventory with proper documentation of quantities, lot numbers and expiration dating.
• Provide support across the medication use continuum including labeling, data entry, and pre-billing review.
• Assist with cleaning and maintenance of the admixture area and pharmacy per state rules.
