Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Personnel Security Specialist III in Arlington, VA to provide entrance on duty support and make pre-appointment clearance recommendations in line with EO, CFR, SEADs, and ICD 704 guidelines. The role requires active TS clearance, 4+ years in personnel security, and strong IT and communication skills.

Responsibilities include performing security checks, initiating investigations via eAPPapp, and ensuring complete questionnaires are submitted to DCSA or an ISP.

Qualifications

• Expert knowledge of government policies governing security suitability and eligibility (FIS, EO, CFR, SEADs, ICD 704).
• Experience conducting security checks and reviewing personnel security information.
• Ability to initiate background investigations via eAPPapp and coordinate with DCSA/ISP.
• Proven ability to prepare SOPs, reports, and training materials.

Responsibilities

• Provide EOD support and make clearance recommendations.
• Review background information to verify eligibility and reciprocity.
• Assist in implementing security policies and continuous evaluation programs.
• Coordinate with applicants and agencies to obtain and file security questionnaires.
• Contribute to process improvements within the division.
• Prepare written documentation and briefings for the personnel security mission.
