Job summary

The Ward Law Group in Miami is seeking a Settlement Department Manager to lead a high‑performing team responsible for valuing, negotiating, and resolving pre‑suit personal injury inventory. This is a true management role measured by the performance of the negotiators who report to you and the department’s results.

You will implement structured workflows, set performance standards, review pipelines weekly, and ensure quality, accuracy, and timely resolutions.

Qualifications

• Seven or more years of progressive experience in personal injury, with substantial time in pre-suit settlement and negotiation.
• Three or more years directly managing a settlements, pre-litigation, or case management team.
• Demonstrated experience managing through metrics with standards and scorecards.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish; written and spoken.
• On-site role in Florida with strong knowledge of Florida law.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the settlement team with hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management.
• Own department metrics: settlement volume, value, and productivity; set standards by jurisdiction and case type.
• Approve demand packages, settlement authority requests, and negotiations within your scope.
• Maintain and improve SOPs, templates, and case-stage definitions for repeatable, quality work.
• Protect client relationships through clear communication and timely, accurate disbursements.
