Job summary

The Ward Law Group, PL is seeking a Settlement Department Manager in Florida. This is a true management role overseeing a team of settlement negotiators, with a focus on valuation, negotiation, and timely resolutions.

Qualifications

• Seven+ years of progressive experience in personal injury, including pre-suit settlements and negotiation.
• Three+ years directly managing a settlements/pre-litigation/case management team.
• Demonstrated experience managing through metrics with standards and coaching.
• Command of case valuation, including medical specials and exposure considerations.
• Fluency in English and Spanish (bilingual) is essential.
• Working knowledge of Florida personal injury practice and applicable rules.
• Comfort with data reports, pipelines, and dashboards.
• On-site, in-office role with in-person leadership responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the settlement team, including hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management.
• Manage through your people to improve valuation accuracy, negotiation skill, and file velocity.
• Establish and monitor department KPIs (volume, value, recovery, time in stages).
• Review and approve demand packages and settlement strategies within authority.
• Maintain SOPs, templates, and workflow to ensure repeatable, compliant results.
• Ensure clear client communication and timely disbursement of settlements.
