Job summary

The Ward Law Group, PL seeks a Settlement Department Manager to lead a team that values, negotiates, and resolves our pre-suit personal injury inventory. This is a true managerial role, measured by team performance rather than individual file load.

You will build and supervise a large team, implement structured workflows, and optimize valuation across injury types while driving settlement velocity, accuracy, and client outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3–5 years in personal injury, with substantial pre-suit settlement experience.
• Experience managing a settlement/pre-suit team with measurable results.
• Strong ability to develop people, set standards, and coach for improvement.
• Familiarity with case valuation, negotiation, and settlement dynamics.
• Ability to communicate clearly with clients and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the settlement negotiators and support team.
• Own department KPIs: settlement value, velocity, and recovery.
• Review and approve demand packages and settlement authority requests.
• Maintain SOPs, templates, and process definitions for repeatable work.
• Ensure compliant, client-approved, timely disbursements and handoffs.
