Job summary

Hanwha Qcells USA Corp in Houston, TX is seeking a Permitting Specialist to identify, manage, and coordinate all permitting requirements for EPC utility-scale PV and BESS projects. You will obtain permits from local, state, and federal agencies, focusing on environmental, building, stormwater, and other ministerial permits, reporting to the Director of Preconstruction.

The role requires a construction/engineering background, strong communication, ability to lead consultants, and travel up to 20%

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
• Graduate degree in a related field highly preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of permitting management experience on large-scale renewable energy projects.
• Strong understanding of local, state, and federal permitting regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead permitting efforts across multiple projects and manage a team of permitting professionals.
• Develop project-specific permitting matrices identifying all required permits.
• Coordinate with Owner, project engineer, and internal teams to meet permitting needs.
• Prepare and submit permit applications and related environmental/documents.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and assess permitting-related risk throughout the lifecycle.
